Philodendron Brasil Kokedama measures around 7 inches long and is in a 4 inch moss ball or tear drop. The display plate and Buddha okimono are not included.
CARE: Philodendron hederaceum 'Brasil' is a wild and bold cultivar of the classic Heartleaf Philodendron. Its variegated leaves look almost painted, with randomly placed strokes of yellow and lime green across the deep green foliage. The stems have a pinkish-orange hue and will show the variegation potential with stripes of green and yellow. Tolerant of a wide range of light conditions, this plant is a prolific grower and will eventually have long cascading vines that can easily reach the floor. This is an excellent kokedama to suspend upside down so the foliage drops toward the floor. Trim leggy vines to promote a bushier growth habit and the tip cuttings can be easily propagated!
While it can survive in low light conditions your Brasil will show its variegation best in medium to bright indirect light. Variegation will diminish if there isn't enough light. Too much direct sunlight can cause leaf burn. Clean the leaves often. Avoid overwatering, and note that your watering schedule may be less frequent during the winter months. Keep it away from heating and AC vents. Fertilize your Philodendron Brasil 1-2 times per month in the spring and summer with diluted indoor plant food.
Parts of the plant are known to contain calcium oxalate crystals in varying concentrations. Although the plant is known to be toxic to mice and rats, the current literature is conflicting with regards to its toxicity in cats or dogs. Its possible toxic effects on humans are currently unknown although likely very mild if not harmless.
